Grief Support Groups for Children and Teens

MeetsTwice a month for 90 minutes, in person only. Sites in Salt Lake City, Taylorsville, Pleasant Grove and Santa Clara.
AboutSupport groups for children ages 3 to 12 and teens ages 13 to 18, with adult groups at the same time for adults who have a child in the program. There is no set fee; families are encouraged to make a monthly gift of any amount, but it is not mandatory. The waitlist varies by age group and location and is typically 2-3 months.

Youth Grief Support Group

MeetsSecond Saturday of the month, September through May, in person only. It is an open group, so families can attend when it works for them on an ongoing basis. Registration required.
AboutFor youth ages 3 to 17 who have experienced the death of someone important to them, with a separate group for caregivers at the same time. Located at the University of Vermont Medical Center, 111 Colchester Avenue.

Camp Knock Knock Family Bereavement Camp
Camp Knock Knock · South Hero, VT
MeetsOne weekend a year, Friday to Sunday. The next camp is October 1-3, 2027, at Camp Ta Kum Ta, 77 Sunset View Rd.
AboutA weekend camp for families with children who have experienced the death of a loved one. Children and adults take part in peer groups led by skilled counselors, along with a memorial ceremony, family meals and traditional camp activities. Children must attend with at least one caregiver. Room for 12 families a year; each family meets with the camp first to make sure it is a good fit.
Cost$50 non-refundable registration fee per family, with scholarships available. All meals and lodging are provided.
